ITS ON!!!

This weekend we booked Clifton Inn!!! I was so worried when we went to go visit Rocco would not like it but to my surprise HE LOVESSS IT with a capital L.

We - well I should say I spent $73 to try two cakes. Since it is cheaper to just have Clifton Inn bake my cake, I wanted to at least try the cake flavor out. They are not a bakery so someone special had to make a 6 inch cake. Because Rocco and I couldn't agree on a flavor I figured what the hell buy two cakes to try out the flavors. He wasn't psyched I spent the money to do this but I said I would pay for it....

My choice was Southern Belle which was red velvet cake with a cream cheese whipped icing. Rocco's choice was Play which was a "Moist, Dark Chocolate Cake, a Layer of White Chocolate-Peanut Crunch, and Dark Chocolate Mousse." Needless to say he won because it was delicious. I don't normally go for dark chocolate but with the mousse and the nuts it won me over.

We have leftovers in the freezer if you want !!!

Weekend Field Trip

So this past weekend Saturday was the big field trip to Charlottesville, VA. It was exciting to check out the two venues I loved.

The first was a dream at Keswick Hall

Danielle and I going home- cough cough I mean arriving at Keswick Hall

Pros:
  • Gorgeous venue with a European Bed and Breakfast Glamorous feel
  • Spacious room with dance floor
  • Deal for bedroom stay for guests- each bedroom is also different
  • Decorated for the holiday season
Cons:
  • Expensive!!!! $135 per person for BRUNCH. Seriously... This price includes the space but not drinks. Basically price is SUPER important since I'm on a budget.
  • Paying to reserve the rooms?
  • Will have to get my own cake made by bakers

The second was a reality but a GOOD one. Below is some photography I collected from Clifton Inn.

Romantic but modern!

Pro:
  • More me! I love the little details and the shabby chic romantic yet modern feel. It would be perfect for an indie wedding.
  • Value! Around $40 per person for brunch + the space cost which is lower for being winter time and during the week.
  • Discounted rooms that are each different.
  • Bar already there!
  • Decorated for holiday season

Con:
  • Space- I'm worried that 50 people will make things crowded.
  • Dance floor? Can we make it work?
  • Will have to have my cake made by their bakers

We also checked out Keswick Vineyards to see if we could do a rehearsal dinner there or go there as an optional activity on the itinerary.

Decision- Not for a wedding or rehearsal dinner BUT... would be a fun activity to go and do a wine tasting.

Dream place

http://www.keswick.com/web/okes/events_weddings.jsp

Was looking through a reasonable destination wedding magazine and this caught my eye. It would be about 3 hours away from where I live and potentially more for other family members so it would qualify for a destination wedding. It is BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Hello! Marry me now.

Aritcle 2 about Kenwick Hall being kid friendly- also one of my favorite actors Morgan Freeman has stayed!

Should I get murried (yes murried) here?
